The BUFF ® Troodos Mountain Ultra 105k is a demanding race with strict cut-off times and should only be tackled by fit and experienced runners. Total elevation gain over the course is 4480m and includes an arduous ascent of about 10k up the Kannoures Trail.
The race will start at Troodos Square on September 22 at 4.00 am and will have a 24-hour cut-off. Runners doing the 105k will start with those doing the 80k and all will follow the same route for the first 17k.
105k runners will pass through a total of nine checkpoints/aid stations and finally finish in Troodos Square, where they started.
The 105k course winds right through the Troodos mountain range and follows the existing 80k route but with an extra 13k stretch added on at the start and another 12k at the finish.
All runners will start in the dark and most will finish in the dark, therefore headlamps are compulsory.
Please check other compulsory equipment on the Practical Information page.
Due to the daunting challenges of this ultra, entries will only be accepted from runners who have in the past two years completed a trail running marathon/ultra within the cut-off limit of that race.
Runners will need to provide a link to their result in a qualifying race when entering.
The route can also be seen on https://tracedetrail.fr/en/trace/trace/49036
A beautiful description of the geological journey of the ultra-distance routes provided by our partners at Troodos Geopark can be found under Troodos mountain range (direct link http://troodosultra.com/en/troodos-mountain-range/).
All entrants will receive their very own performance headwear, custom-made for the BUFF ® Troodos Mountain Ultra 2018. Top 3 winners (male and female) will be awarded BUFF ® headwear prizes. All finishers will receive a finisher’s medal.
